Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary History Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for understanding the past. In this role, you will deliver engaging history lessons aligned with curriculum standards, utilize innovative learning technology, and cultivate critical thinking skills. Your energetic approach will motivate students to explore historical events, analyze sources, and develop their own perspectives. Duties Develop comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and align with educational standards such as AP style and Chicago Manual of Style. Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions that promote active learning and critical analysis of historical topics. Incorporate diverse teaching methods, including creative writing, research projects, and multimedia resources, to enhance student engagement. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively through strong classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Mentor students individually or in small groups to support literacy education, tutoring needs, or special education requirements. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, instructional strategies, and integration of learning technology to improve overall educational outcomes. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation for reporting purposes. Requirements Must be of the Christian Faith and an active attendee of a local church Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven classroom experience teaching secondary-level history or social studies with a focus on engaging diverse learners. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies including standardized testing preparation. Experience working with students in private school settings or specialized education environments is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts and foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere. Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, managing multiple student needs, and coordinating extracurricular activities or academic advising. Knowledge of learning technology tools and digital resources to enhance instruction and facilitate remote or hybrid learning models. Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as research methodologies, linguistics, literacy education, or education administration. Pay:
$40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
