• Full-time Compass High School is seeking a skilled and student-centered History teacher to teach World History; U.

S. History; and/or Government. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships; deliver engaging and relevant instruction; and help students grow their understanding of history, civics, and their role in society. Our school serves a diverse population of learners who benefit from hands-on instruction; clear expectations; structured routines; and compassionate guidance. Responsibilities

• Teach World History; U.S. History; and/or Government using engaging; standards-aligned lessons
• Incorporate primary sources; project-based learning; and discussion-based instruction to build critical thinking and real-world connections
• Support students through mastery-based learning; competency checks; and targeted reteaching
• Create structured routines that build confidence; consistency; and academic progress
• Track student learning and provide timely feedback
• Collaborate with the social studies team and administration to ensure strong student outcomes
• Maintain communication with families; advisors and the administrative team
• Participate in professional development and contribute to schoolwide initiatives Integrate civic engagement; current events; and practical life skills into instruction Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; history; political science; or related field preferred
• Experience teaching high school social studies preferred
• Strong classroom management skills; ability to support students with diverse needs
• Ability to make history relevant; engaging; and connected to students' lives

• Experience with project-based; place-based; or experiential learning
• Ability to incorporate debates; simulations; mock trials; and civic projects
