- Maintains a lifestyle consistent with the moral standards outlined in the Mission Viejo Christian School Personnel Handbook
- Affirms and supports the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of Mission Viejo Christian School
- Possesses a genuine love for junior high students and an understanding of the unique developmental needs of this age group
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching God's Word and discipling students in their faith
- Demonstrates a solid theological foundation and understanding of core Christian doctrine
- Holds a bachelor's degree
- Has a minimum of two years of teaching experience
- Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Serves as a collaborative team player and servant leader Essential Responsibilities
- Teach academically rigorous Bible courses for grades 7 and 8 with clarity, enthusiasm, and excellence
- Provide instruction in the Old and New Testaments
- Foster meaningful classroom discussions while thoughtfully addressing student questions and maintaining instructional objectives
- Integrate Christian apologetics to equip students to understand, articulate, and defend their faith in an increasingly complex culture
- Help students develop spiritual disciplines, identify their spiritual gifts, and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ
- Equip students to evaluate contemporary issues—including social media, cultural trends, relationships, and ethical challenges—through a Biblical worldview Collaboration and School Community
- Collaborate with the Junior High team to support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and student needs
- Participate in faculty meetings, staff devotions, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events
- Support and attend junior high extracurricular activities, including social events, reward nights, and other student programs throughout the school year Preferred Qualifications
- Current Teaching Credential
- Degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Education, or a related field
