Job Description

Social Studies Teacher Bunnell High School Requirements:
Connecticut State Certification 026 Social Studies, 7-12
Qualifications:
Ability to design and deliver effective inquiry-based, student-centered instruction to students at all grade and academic levels using the CT social studies standards/CCSS standards. Familiarity with Inquiry Design Model (IDM) preferred. Employing a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including mini-lessons, discussions, and small group instruction. Ability to effectively scaffold delivery of academic content within complex texts and differentiate process, product, and content for striving readers and those needing enrichment. Ability to positively engage students and families in the learning process. Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues to improve learning, climate, and culture for all students. Ability to use data to guide instructional decisions. Ability to effectively use technology to engage students, with a heavy focus on student-centered strategies. Ability to provide a high-performing learning environment by setting, maintaining, and modeling high standards of professional conduct.
