Miami, FL Job Details Seasonal 12 hours ago Qualifications Teaching Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description The Instrumental Coach is an hourly position in the Performing Arts Department. Coaches work on an as-needed basis. The duration of each coaching visit may vary but often corresponds to 80 minutes of work, to go along with our standard 80-minute class period. The work may be with an individual student, a small section, or an entire class. The instrumental coach will collaborate with members of our instrumental music faculty at the upper school and middle school for scheduling and other associated details.
Qualifications:
College coursework, teaching experience and professional performance experience. Applicants should be familiar with secondary school instrumental pedagogy for the instrument(s) to be taught, including instrumental techniques, scales, etudes and repertoire. Applicant training should also include college coursework and hands-on training and performance for the instruments to be studied. Teaching experience should include pedagogical study on the instrument(s) to be taught, as well as hands-on teaching in individual and group settings. Professional experience should be on the instruments to be taught and should include performances with solo or ensemble settings comparable to those at our school. Applicants should be able to demonstrate musical passages at a professional level for the instruments or ensembles in our program.
