Job Description

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable 6th Grade U.S. History Teacher to join our middle school team! The ideal candidate will inspire young minds to explore the rich history of the United States, foster critical thinking skills, and create a dynamic classroom environment where students feel engaged and valued.
Job Description:
As the 6th Grade U.S. History Teacher, you will guide students through an exciting journey of America's past—from early civilizations to the founding of our country and beyond. You'll plan lessons that are interactive, standards-based, and aligned with the school's academic goals while nurturing a love of history in every student.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging daily lesson plans aligned with state and district standards Teach key U.S. history concepts such as colonization, the American Revolution, the Constitution, westward expansion, and early government Promote historical thinking through reading, writing, debates, research projects, and primary source analysis Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events Uphold the school's mission, vision, and code of conduct
Qualifications:
Associate's, Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or related field (Master's preferred) Valid teaching certification for middle school Social Studies or History Prior teaching experience in middle school preferred Strong communication and classroom management skills Passion for teaching and fostering a love for history in students
