Job Description

Bible Baptist Christian Academy in Statesboro, GA is looking for a summer camp lead teacher to join our team. We are located on 889 GA Hwy 24. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged. Summer Camp Lead Teacher (Preschool - Grade 4) Job Summary We are looking for a christian, enthusiastic, patient, and creative Lead Teacher to head our "Junior Campers" division. You will be responsible for creating a magical summer experience for our campers, focusing on building their confidence, social skills, and love for discovery through hands-on activities.
Key Responsibilities Age-Appropriate Instruction :
Adapt lessons (STEM, arts, movement) into "bite-sized" activities that match the shorter attention spans of 3 to 9 year olds. Must be comfortable teaching Bible lessons to younger children.
Social-Emotional Coaching :
Guide children through "first-time" camp experiences, helping them navigate sharing, making new friends, and managing separation anxiety.
Routine & Transition Management :
Lead seamless transitions between activities using songs, games, or countdowns to keep the group engaged and on schedule.
Personal Care Oversight :
Monitor basic needs including sunblock application, frequent hydration, scheduled bathroom breaks, and "quiet time" or rest periods.
Safety & Accountability :
Maintain strict "sight and sound" supervision; conduct regular headcounts during playground time, water play, or transitions.
Daily Parent Communication :
Provide "high-touch" feedback to parents, sharing specific "wins" from the day or noting any developmental milestones.
Specific Qualifications Experience :
Prefer experience working with early childhood or lower elementary-aged children (e.g., preschool, Kindergarten, or Grade 1-2).
Education :
Preferred but not required; minimum of CDA.
Physical Stamina :
Ability to frequently kneel, sit on the floor, and keep pace with high-energy children in an indoor and outdoor environment. The "Spark" : A talent for silly storytelling, lead-along songs, and maintaining a patient, nurturing demeanor even during "meltdown" moments.
