Job Description

Job Summary Seeking English, Science, Humanities, Math and Special Education teachers to join a vibrant Hawaiian-focused charter school community dedicated to fostering cultural heritage, academic excellence, and community engagement. As a teacher in this dynamic environment, you will inspire students through innovative instruction rooted in Hawaiian language, history, and traditions. Your role is vital in nurturing a love for learning while honoring the rich cultural identity of our students. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while promoting Hawaiian values and perspectives. Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that incorporate Hawaiian language, history, and cultural practices aligned with curriculum standards Foster an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes respect for Hawaiian traditions Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth Collaborate with colleagues, community leaders, and cultural experts to enrich the educational experience and integrate local knowledge Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral observations in compliance with school policies Participate in school events, cultural celebrations, and professional development opportunities focused on Hawaiian education and teaching strategies Support students' social-emotional development by creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and confidence Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field; relevant teaching certification preferred Experience working with diverse student populations in an educational setting; university experience is highly valued Strong understanding of Hawaiian culture, language, and history; ability to incorporate these elements into daily instruction Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students, families, and community partners effectively Passionate about culturally responsive teaching and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners while maintaining high standards of excellence This role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the preservation and celebration of Hawaiian heritage through education. Pay:
$22.58 - $27.19 per hour
