Job Description

DreamHouse 'Ewa Beach is seeking passionate, student-centered educators for the 2026-2027 school year. As a public charter school serving the 'Ewa Beach and Kapolei communities, DreamHouse is committed to culturally responsive, inquiry-based learning grounded in identity affirmation, servant leadership, and community engagement. Position Summary Teachers at DreamHouse are responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in a collaborative, high-expectations learning environment. Educators empower students to be affirmed in their identities, grounded in island culture, and equipped with 21st-century skills to lead within their communities. Teachers cultivate student voice, ownership of outcomes, and growth-oriented mindsets while fostering empathy and leadership development. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned to Hawai'i Content and Performance Standards Foster a culturally responsive classroom that affirms identity and promotes student leadership Maintain high academic expectations and monitor student growth Partner with families as active collaborators in student success Contribute positively to school culture and community initiatives Participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (required) Valid Hawai'i Teaching License or ability to obtain licensure through the Hawai'i Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) If hired without completion of a Teacher Education Program, must enroll in an approved program and obtain licensure within three (3) years Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing. Strong organizational and classroom management skills Successful student teaching, intern teaching, or past experience. Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught. Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing. Commitment to collaboration and teaming. Ability to maintain acceptable student behavior. Ability to use appropriate assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques. Ability to utilize effective practices to build a community of learners. Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices. Knowledge of skills and strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students. Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning. Knowledge of the relationships between teaching and learning. Skill and ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment and learning. Commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and reflection. Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and follow-through.
