Description:

Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is currently accepting applications for a Junior High 6th Grade Social Studies/Science Teacher. The successful candidate will provide engaging instruction that encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and a passion for learning. This position is responsible for supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of junior high students while contributing to a positive and collaborative school environment. This position will start with the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities:

Develop lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs. Monitor student progress and use assessment data to guide instruction. Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment. Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff. Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Support district initiatives and building goals.

Qualifications:

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate middle school endorsements in Social and General Sciences. Strong knowledge of junior high instructional practices and curriculum. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Strong communication and organizational skills.

NOTE:

Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year
