Job Description

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Buckhorn School as a full-time teacher for 3rd and 4th-grade Reading and Social Studies. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading and an understanding of social studies concepts while creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. This role requires a commitment to student growth, collaboration with colleagues, and active participation in the school community. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students in reading and social studies. Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience. Foster a love for reading through various instructional methods, including guided reading, literature circles, and independent reading programs. Teach social studies concepts, including history, geography, and civics, in a manner that connects to students' lives and experiences. Collaborate with other educators and staff to align curriculum and share best practices. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching practices. Contribute to the school community through involvement in committees, events, and extracurricular activities. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or enrollment in an accredited MAT program. Valid teaching certification for elementary education preferred. Experience teaching reading and social studies at the elementary level preferred. Strong knowledge of current educational practices and curriculum standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
