Job Description

Summary Caldwell County Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage with historical events, understand cultural diversity, and develop critical thinking skills. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth among middle school students. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines. Teach a variety of social studies topics, including history, geography, government, and economics, to students in grades 6-8. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, encouraging student participation and collaboration. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Utilize diverse instructional strategies and technologies to meet the varied learning needs of students. Foster critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions, debates, and research projects. Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and support student learning. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Social Studies for middle school education. Proven experience teaching social studies at the middle school level is preferred. Strong understanding of middle school curriculum and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in the academic and personal growth of students.
