Job Description
The Career and Technical Coordinator is state certified Teacher and/or alternatively certified CTE Teacher responsible for providing support and guidance to CTE Teachers, managing the certification process, as well as delivering specific course content in a Project Based Learning on-line environment, when needed. The CTE Coordinator will work with Career Counselors to develop and monitor a plan for post-secondary success via online tools. Instructional/Curricular Effectively apply working knowledge of the K12 curriculum and Online School as it relates to grade and subject level assignment In concert with other discipline experts participate in the development of Projects within a Project Based Learning Environment using K12 design protocols Collaborate with other discipline experts to create ongoing projects designed around course and industry standards Maintain and effectively apply knowledge of the State and Industry Specific learning standards Support students/parents with placement, online school set up, curriculum and instructional issues Develop effective instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enhance provided curriculum. Communication Contact the student regularly via e-mail or phone Respond within appropriate time frame (usually one business day) to student/parent inquiries Participate in a weekly teacher conference call with the Principal Regularly schedule and facilitate face-to-face and virtual CTE team meetings. Records Management Develop and maintain student academic progress Develop and maintain a system to monitor Teacher certifications and generate formal reports; Alert administrators of any concerns about student progress and attendance Ensure CTE Teachers process student change in placement, as appropriate Complete semester and end of year progress reports. Community Organize orientation, training, social, and educational activities for students and families Create a monthly newsletter or updated Web site Travel to assigned geographic areas to support students; participate in school activities such as open houses, expos, information session and orientations Lead student/parent orientations. Assessment/Evaluation Work with the administration and the CTE team to prepare students for state assessments Serve as a proctor for site-based proctored exams Assess students per policy. Other duties as assigned Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree AND One (1) year industry experience leading to certification OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Possess a valid Louisiana Teacher certification or should meet minimum certification requirements for a Teacher as outlined in the Louisiana DOE Bulletin 746 and CSAL, Inc. school board requirements are as they exist at the time of hire. Ability to travel 25% of the time Ability to pass required background check and DCFS Central Registry Review Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Strong written and verbal communication skills Organization and time-management skills Microsoft Office; Web proficiency.Desired Qualifications:
Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database Project Based Learning training Experience teaching in a virtual setting Secondary Business Certification Employee Residency and In-Person Participation Policy This policy defines residency expectations and physical attendance requirements. It is meant to ensure in-person participation at required PD meetings, mandatory state testing, student events or other responsibilities as assigned. Employees must live within a commutable distance to Louisiana designated work sites. Employee location must allow dependable travel to all physical work assignments across the state of Louisiana. Louisiana residency is preferred for all organizational roles. Out-of-state living arrangements require explicit, written approval from school leadership. Approvals are subject to ongoing evaluation by supervisors. Approval may be revoked if performance or attendance metrics drop. Travel delays do not automatically excuse absence from mandatory events. This is a 11-month, hybrid position where work is primarily done remotely, but may require one or more days in the office for meetings and training monthly. Usual school/office working conditions.
