  • History (Grades 5-12) Youth Residential Facility | Framingham, MA Amergis Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher (History) to provide high-quality instructional services to students in grades 5-12 at a youth residential facility.
This role emphasizes collaboration, individualized instruction, and implementation of student-centered educational programming aligned with Massachusetts standards.

ESY, and would extend into the standard year as well and would have the potential to turn into direct employment for the right candidate.
Pay Rate:
$57/hour for licensed teachers & $45/hour for unlicensed teachers

Setting:
Chapter 766 approved school (220-day program) Primary Responsibilities Deliver History instruction to students in grades 6-12 using MA State Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core Standards. Plan, implement, and adapt lessons to meet the goals outlined in student IEPs. Provide differentiated instruction and individualized accommodations based on student needs and learning styles. Create a classroom environment that is physically safe, supportive, and aligned with special education best practices. Integrate technology into instruction and lesson planning as appropriate. Provide structured lessons and activities for assigned classes and student groups. Participate in the Extended Evaluation program and related assessment practices. Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs. Maintain accurate documentation related to student progress, grading, and compliance. Attend department meetings, staff meetings, and required professional development sessions. Model academic and behavioral expectations consistent with school standards. Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and TCI certifications (training provided).
Licensure Requirements Required:
Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5-12). Will consider unlicensed teachers that have experience working in History classrooms.
Preferred:
Content-area licensure in History (not required if Moderate Disabilities license is held) Parent & Stakeholder Communication Establish and maintain consistent, open communication with parents and guardians. Collaborate with general education staff and interdisciplinary team members as needed. Skills & Competencies Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in education preferred. At least 6+ months classroom experience (aide/co-teacher/etc.) preferred. Ability to work independently and self-direct curriculum planning and instructional projects. Flexibility and creative problem-solving skills to adapt instruction in real time. Strong instructional, mentoring, and coaching abilities. Dependability, persistence, and strong follow-through on assigned responsibilities. Professional demeanor with a commitment to student growth and development.
