Unidos Academy is seeking exceptional History teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectationsEssential Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as a strong, positive presence in the classroom, motivating students daily to engage, work hard, and grow academically. Design and implement a high-quality History curriculum aligned to the Massachusetts and Common Core standards Set rigorous academic goals and provide targeted, actionable feedback to students on their progress. Build a strong classroom culture and implement school-wide systems to maximize instructional time. Use student data to drive instruction and ensure all students are making meaningful academic gains.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of historical content and pedagogy
- Culturally responsive teaching practices
- Proficiency in using data to inform and adapt instruction
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Comfort with integrating technology and movement into lessons
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and feedback
- Ability to foster strong student relationships and maintain high expectations
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or a related field (required)
- Valid Massachusetts DESE History License (5-8 or 8-12) or eligibility (required)
- At least one year of urban teaching experience (preferred)
