Position SummaryMystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and mission-driven History Teacher to join our 712 faculty. The ideal candidate will possess strong content knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to academic excellence. Candidates should be passionate about helping students develop critical thinking, historical understanding, and strong analytical writing skills within a structured and supportive learning environment. Essential ResponsibilitiesImplement the established History curriculum, including International Baccalaureate (IB) coursework where applicableTeach five History classes daily using Core Knowledge and IB instructional methodologiesDevelop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons with clear instructional objectivesAssess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback through assignments, progress reports, and report cardsAdminister standardized assessments as directed by the Department Chair and school leadershipCollaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, instructional improvement, and data analysisMaintain strong classroom management consistent with the schools structured discipline modelParticipate actively in faculty meetings, department meetings, and professional development opportunitiesSupport school-wide programs, activities, and events Perform additional duties as assigned by the History Department Chair and school leadership QualificationsBachelors degree or higher in History or a related field requiredDemonstrated content expertise and enthusiasm for teaching HistoryStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to analyze student performance data and use it to inform instructionExcellent classroom management, organizational, and time-management skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administratorsFamiliarity with curriculum standards, educational practices, and school policiesExperience assessing student performance and writing progress reportsCommitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practiceAbility to differentiate instruction to support diverse learnersSuccessful completion of applicable Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) within one year of employment Why Join MVRCS?At Mystic Valley, educators are part of a mission-driven community dedicated to academic excellence and character development.
