The ideal candidate will be strongly influenced by the Austrian School of economics and well versed in the works of Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek, Walter Williams, and Thomas Sowell.

The successful applicant will inspire students to think critically about markets, individual liberty, entrepreneurship, constitutional government, incentives, monetary policy, and the role of institutions in a free society. Candidates should be capable of presenting economic ideas clearly, rigorously, and in a manner that encourages intellectual curiosity and civil discourse.

ResponsibilitiesTeach high school economics courses with an emphasis on: oFree-market economicsoThe Austrian School traditionoEconomic historyoThe moral and philosophical foundations of economic libertyIntroduce students to primary-source economic texts and seminal works from major economic thinkersFoster analytical thinking, debate, and evidence-based discussion in the classroomDevelop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with Massachusetts curriculum standards and the schools academic mission as well as International Baccalaureate standards.

Maintain high academic and behavioral expectationsCollaborate with faculty and administration to support student achievement and school cultureCommunicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progressQualificationsBachelors degree required; Demonstrated knowledge of Austrian economics and classical liberal economic thoughtFamiliarity with the writings and ideas of Mises, Hayek, Walter Williams, and Thomas SowellStrong writing, communication, and classroom management skillsAbility to engage students in thoughtful discussion of economic and civic issuesCommitment to academic excellence and content-rich instructionPreferred AttributesPassion for teaching economic reasoning and intellectual historyAppreciation for rigorous academic standards and a structured learning environmentCompensationSalary range: $60,000$90,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and educational background.
