Qualifications:
  • Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License
  • History/Social Studies (9-12) required
  • SEI Endorsement required
  • Strong content knowledge in social sciences
  • Excellent computer/technology skills
  • Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
  • Excellent classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
  • Teach and co-teach social studies courses
  • Provide students with a safe, orderly classroom environment
  • Enforce and apply all relevant school rules and policies
  • Assess student work and share feedback with students and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curricula and assessments
  • Provide differentiated, tiered instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Collaborate with guardians, counselors, administrators, teaching assistants, and other staff members to develop intervention plans for students
  • Provide accommodations, modifications, and specialized instruction as required by Individualized Education Plans, 504 Plans, Individualized Health Care Plans, and other types of intervention plans
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
  • Perform standard duties as required by administration
