Job Description

The St. Mary's High School Social Studies Teacher will have a strong desire to teach in a diverse, faith-based, nurturing environment. Candidates must be knowledgeable about current instructional strategies and be skilled at creating lessons with high levels of student engagement for students in grades 9-12. This is a full-time, benefit eligible, 10-month teaching position. Essential Functions Plan and implement Daily lessons for students based on school curriculum. Manage all aspects of the classroom (including but not limited to: instruction, discipline, communication etc.). Perform assigned teacher duties on a rotating schedule with rest of the faculty. Attend all faculty meetings and in-services. Participate in school community events (including but not limited to: graduations, award ceremonies, festivals, and open houses). Communicate student progress with parents through in person and online systems. Position Qualifications Bachelor's degree in history. A master's degree is preferred. Knowledge of best practices and strong instructional and pedagogical techniques is also imperative. Current MSDE certification. Minimum of three years of experience (teaching middle/high school Social Studies preferred). Experience in a Catholic School setting is preferred. Must be comfortable with technology to include integration in daily lessons. Must have a commitment to Catholic School education. $47,692 - $93,302,
