Position Overview :
Are you an enthusiastic and innovative educator looking for an exciting opportunity? Friends School of Baltimore is seeking teachers to join our dynamic team. We are particularly interested in candidates who are proficient in utilizing technology, especially Google tools, thrive on collaboration with fellow educators, and excel in employing multi-sensory techniques to address our students' developmental needs. Key Responsibilities :
Teach Core Subjects:
Deliver instruction in core subject areas that honor Quaker values and align with the Teaching and Learning Paradigm of Friends School. Engage in
Professional Development:
Participate enthusiastically in All-School Professional Days, team/department meetings, and Lower School faculty gatherings. Contribute to
School Initiatives:
Play a pivotal role in advancing the School's initiatives by contributing expertise and providing a strong voice on committees.
Craft Thoughtful Lesson Plans:
Design and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students. Collaborate with
Colleagues:
Foster productive collaborations with fellow educators within your team/department, across divisions, and beyond.
Ensure Student Well-Being:
Prioritize the safety and well-being of students, creating a nurturing environment for their growth. Maintain an
Inviting Classroom:
Create and maintain an inviting classroom and learning space, including captivating bulletin boards in both the classroom and hallways.
Promote Social Skills Development:
Encourage the development of students' social skills, supporting their holistic growth.
Provide Progress Reports:
Offer parents and administrators detailed, timely, and engaging written and oral progress reports, celebrating the multifaceted aspects of each child's educational journey.
Supervise Students:
Take on student supervisory duties, including Lunch, Recess, Early Arrival, and Dismissal, on a rotating basis, fostering a positive and secure environment. Commit to
Professional Learning:
Engage in professional development on culturally responsive teaching, mind/brain/education pedagogies, restorative practices, and racial justice training. Participate in
School Life:
Actively engage in the vibrant life of the independent school community.
Required Qualifications:
â- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and experience preferred â- Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to understand and incorporate Quaker Principles and Quaker education into their work.
