This full-time position requires an individual who is committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both English language arts and social studies curriculum, and will be able to inspire students to develop critical thinking skills, effective communication, and a love for learning. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards for English and social studies. Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, projects, and class participation. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with varying abilities and backgrounds. Integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance student learning and engagement. Foster a love for reading and writing through innovative teaching practices and literature exploration. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that enhance student learning. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum updates. Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and events. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or a related field. Valid teaching certification for middle school English and social studies. Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Proficiency in using technology for instruction and student engagement. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices. Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred but not required.
