Our faculty are united by a shared love for truth, goodness, and beauty and a desire to help young people grow integrally. We actively support families in raising up saints for the next generation, assisting them in forming Catholics and cultivating culture. Our Academy is an apostolate of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, and extends the ministry of the Pastor through our mission to assist families. We are seeking a fourth grade teacher who sees teaching as a vocation and desires to participate in the life of a joyful Catholic classical school community. The ideal candidate loves students, classroom management, children's literature, and the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. Our faculty, and our families, know they have been brought here by God and they know that the Lord does all things for the good of those who love Him. We are eager to hear from you if you are being nudged by the Lord toward us. This position includes is a homeroom teacher for one section of fourth grade and includes all aspects of the fourth grade curriculum, including reading, literature, grammar, math, science, and religion. Sacred Heart Academy prioritizes building up a faculty of friends who are faithful above all to the person of Jesus Christ. Our faculty read books and poems together, we spend professional development time discussing literature and history, we love telling others about what we are reading, sharing how the Lord is enriching our prayer lives, and sharing interests, like hobby farming, biking, sports, together in community. Desires to run an orderly, efficient, and deeply personal classroom culture. Understands the classroom as a place of wonder, discipline, delight, and formation. Desires to contribute to a strong faculty culture striving for wisdom.
Qualifications:
Required A practicing Catholic whose life is lived in conformity with the moral teachings of the Church. Commitment to the Catholic mission of the Academy and willingness to sign the "Faculty Memorandum of Understanding" and swear the "Oath of Fidelity" to the Catholic faith. Bachelor's degree. Strongly Preferred Experience with and knowledge of Catholic liberal education. Love of great children's literature. Strong organizational and communication skills. Strong catechetical background.
