The ideal candidate will guide students in grades 9-12 through history, civics, economics, and geography, helping them build critical thinking skills and preparing them to become informed and engaged citizens. Both new graduates and experienced educators are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned lessons in U.S. History, World History, Civics, Economics, and related courses as assigned. Promote inquiry, discussion, and analysis that encourage students to make connections between historical events and contemporary issues. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, providing both support and enrichment opportunities. Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and inform instruction. Build a classroom culture rooted in respect, inclusion, and student voice. Partner with colleagues, support staff, and families to advance student academic and personal growth. Engage in professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous learning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a Social Studies-related field (master's degree preferred). Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a secondary-level Social Studies endorsement (RX). Daily substitutes, or full-time substitute permits are not eligible for this posting Strong knowledge of high school social studies content and effective teaching strategies.
