Contract Type LOA If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement The department has 19 faculty, half working in agricultural. Undergraduate degrees are offered in Agricultural Business, Economics, and Financial Engineering, with undergraduate majors numbering about 300 and 100 minors. The Department offers a very rigorous, highly respected Master's in Applied Economics, graduating an average of 8 students per year. MSU is a land-grant university with total enrollment of over 17,000 students, including 2,000 graduate students. It is recognized as a highly-intensive research university. We seek individuals who work professionally and effectively with all individuals, possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Montana State University. Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re-submit materials for continued consideration. The department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the non-tenure track faculty hiring pool. Duties and Responsibilities Teaching on-campus courses. Advising, evaluating and assisting students. Participating in weekly faculty meetings. Meeting regularly with, collaborating with, and evaluating peer leader, if one is assigned to your section. Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Master's or ABD in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. Current expertise and substantial knowledge in the specific field or discipline. Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience teaching economics. The Successful Candidate Will Have an appreciation of a wide range of constituencies and add intellectual uniqueness to the department. The Program The Department The Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics ( DAEE ) is jointly administered by the College of Agriculture and the College of Letters and Science. The Department has 20 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Faculty are highly productive scholars with a focus on quality publications in leading refereed journals. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Agricultural Business, Economics, and Financial Engineering (joint with the College of Engineering), with undergraduate majors numbering about 360, and a rigorous, highly respected Master's degree in Applied Economics, graduating an average of six students per year.
