Job Description

Saddle River Day School is seeking a full-time History and Economics teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will teach Upper School classes and serve as an advisor to a small group of students.
Responsibilities:
Teach 5 sections of History and/or Economics courses Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal development Participate actively in the life of the school community beyond the classroom, including contributing to extracurricular programs, events, and committees Demonstrate a passion for history, economics, current events, student success, and real-world learning Effectively be able to manage a classroom and maintain accurate records Collaborate effectively with colleagues to design and implement a student-centered curriculum Connect and work with families to ensure student success Foster a student-centered environment which encourages intellectual risk-taking and innovation Incorporate current educational trends and meaningful technology into classroom pedagogy
Qualifications:
Hold a bachelor's degree in History, Economics, or a related subject (advanced degree preferred) Have experience teaching history or economics courses, preferable at the high school level (other relevant experience will be considered)
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range:
$60,000 to $85,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)
