Qualifications:
1) Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies, Education, or Related Field 2) Valid New Mexico Teaching License with a science endorsement (or eligibility) 3) Demonstrate dependability, cooperation, loyalty, responsible behavior and attitude Reports to:
Building Principal Essential Functions:
1) Implement appropriate secondary science curriculum as dictated by the New Mexico Content Standards. 2) Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate for the grade levels assigned. 3) Present lessons utilizing techniques, methods and media to meet diverse student needs in the classroom. 4) Organize the classroom to facilitate maximum learning. 5) Evaluate student academic and social growth, both subjectively and objectively, and record and report results. 6) Participate as a team member in school activities that will enhance the learning and working environment of which you are assigned. 7) Promote all aspect of school life-academics, athletics, activities. 8) Maintain a productive appropriate classroom climate for all students through a consistent, positive, disciplined approach to learning and teaching. 9) Maintain and develop effective communication with parents and community. 10) Maintain and enhance professional competencies by attending inservice, workshops, conferences and other related educational activities. 11) Supervise pupils in and out of classroom activities, as assigned. 12) Attends all department meetings, department head meetings, district meetings, assemblies, and other related required duties, such as dances, proms, awards, and graduation. 13) Assist in planning for and implementation of the Standards of Excellence. 14) Any other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by the administration....
