We are dedicated to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and personal growth among young women in our diverse urban setting. Overview The high school/middle school teacher will develop and deliver informative and engaging lesson plans within their respective content areas. The teacher will utilize a variety of instructional methods, curricula, visual aids, textbooks, online resources, and creative projects to instruct, motivate, and increase student involvement and participation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Develops and implements engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student learning objectives.
  • Utilizes a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, and hands-on projects, to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Integrates visual aids, textbooks, online resources, and creative projects to enhance student understanding and engagement.
  • Prepares materials for presentations and classroom activities.
  • Designs and administers assessments to evaluate student learning and progress.
  • Grades tests, assignments, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
  • Conducts progress reports and communicates student performance to parents and administrators.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Enforces school rules and disciplinary actions in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Provides parent and student counseling as needed, addressing academic and behavioral concerns.
  • Chaperones classes and school trips, ensuring student safety and supervision.
  • Conducts curriculum research and development to ensure alignment with current standards and best practices.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Prioritizes teaching methods and strategies based on student needs and learning objectives.
  • Proctors' examinations and assessments.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of student activities, attendance, and grades, in accordance with laws and school policies.
  • Keeps records of student activities in accordance with laws and school policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
:
  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant content area or education.
  • New York State Teacher Certification in the appropriate subject and grade level.
EXPERIENCE
  • Previous teaching experience or in a similar role/industry.
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
