The Division of Liberal Arts offers a variety of academic programs that provide students with the academic acumen to transfer competitively to baccalaureate institutions or to engage the workforce directly. The cornerstone of our faculty's teaching is student success, so our classes regularly incorporate equitable teaching and learning strategies, diverse perspectives, and service learning projects. Many of our full-time faculty serve as leaders in their professional organizations or publish regularly, and many of the part-time faculty serve as community leaders and practitioners. As faculty, you will empower our students to achieve success by helping them develop their competencies through innovative education. The Division of Liberal Arts offers the following degrees and certificate programs: Associate of Arts (A.A.) inLiberal Arts:
Humanities and Social Sciences with additional concentrations in Communications, English, History, and Psychology Associate of Science (A.S.) in Human Services Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Chemical Dependency Counseling and in Human Services Certificate Programs in Chemical Dependency Counseling, Direct Support Professional, and Community Health Worker We are currently accepting applications for the following positions: English adjunct professor Spanish adjunct professor French adjunct professor Italian adjunct professor Art History adjunct professor Paralegal adjunct professor Criminal Justice adjunct professor Supply Chain Management adjunct professor Reporting to the Division Dean, the Adjunct professor position provides part-time course instruction in a specific content area. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have background that includes virtual, online teaching and experience implementing student-centered instructional strategies. Provide instruction to students in a specific content area Prepare course work and develop the syllabus for each course assigned in accordance with established SUNY Schenectady approved curriculum and course outlines Teach the depth and scope of course content using engaging classroom methods to support students' mastery of course Student Learning Outcomes Model lifelong learning, focus on consistent improvement of instructional practice (engage as a reflective practitioner), and actively engage in independent and college offered professional development to increase knowledge in one's content area and teaching methodsRequirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in the prospective discipline one will teach, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate-level credits in the discipline Strong communication and interpersonal skills The ability to create inclusive and engaging learning environments for students from a wide range of backgrounds.Preferred Requirements:
At least one year of experience in teaching, preferably at the community college level (or comparable professional experience) Experience in utilizing differentiated instructional strategies Experience with virtual, online instructionAdditional Information:
