The student body of 7th through 12graders reside in Syracuse and over 30 different surrounding communities. The school enjoys a rich and distinguished tradition of academic, spiritual, athletic, and co-curricular excellence. The typical CBA graduate matriculates directly to a 4-year college. CBA operates with an administrative team of President, Principal, Assistant Principals for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and the Junior High School. The Directors of Athletics, Vice Presidents of Enrollment Management, Mission, Advancement, Finance, and Director of Guidance, have prominent roles at the school. This is a 10-month position.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in the content area of Religion which guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential.JOB DUTIES 1.
Develop and maintain the curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities as identified by CBA. 2. Prepare daily unit and lesson materials based on the curriculum put forth by CBA and its Religion Department. 3. Manage the classroom in a way that provides a safe, thriving, and respectful learning environment for all students. 4. Grade assignments and assessments in a timely manner. 5. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student work and progress. 6. Maintain communication with parents/guardians and students regarding challenges, upcoming assignments, and major papers/projects. 7. Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis. 8. Attend all CBA faculty meetings, trainings, in-services, retreats, conferences, Open House, Honors Night, and Graduation. 9. Assist with other related and relevant tasks as identified and assigned by administrative staff and the director of guidance.QUALIFICATIONS
- Well-suited for the ministry of Catholic/Lasallian education.
- Master's degree in education or related field preferred; Two or more years experience preferred.
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively with the teachers, guidance counselors, administrators, and parents.
- Excellent organization, planning, and communication skills.
