Akiva Academy is a K-8th grade Jewish Day School committed to academic excellence in both Judaic and General Studies, while maintaining a warm, nurturing learning environment in which our students thrive intellectually, socially, and spiritually. We empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed to their full potential. The cultivation of responsibility, discipline, self-esteem, confidence, and genuine love and respect for all people is the hallmark of our education. We are seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Judaic Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to connect deeply with Jewish texts and traditions, encourage critical thinking, and create a meaningful and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Ability to teach Judaic Studies to students Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons focused on Jewish texts, traditions, and values, utilizing the curriculum provided by the school. Encourage meaningful discussions that foster a deeper connection to Judaic studies and Jewish identity. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of middle school students. Classes may include students at different levels and the ideal candidate will have the ability to challenge students at different levels. Create a respectful and engaging classroom environment that promotes Torah values and intellectual curiosity. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and support student learning. Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, embodying Akiva's core values. Communicate effectively with parents to promote student progress and success. Supervise students during non-instructional times, ensuring a safe and positive environment. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Judaic Studies, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of Jewish texts, traditions, history, and values. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills. A commitment to serving as a role model for students in personal behavior, dress, and attitude. Apply View All Jobs
