Jul 29, 2026 Job Description 5th Grade ELA & Social Studies Teacher Southwest Elementary | Clinton Public Schools Southwest Elementary is seeking a professional 5th Grade Educator to teach English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. Reporting to Principal April Miner, the successful candidate will join a collaborative 2nd-5th grade faculty dedicated to academic rigor and student growth. Primary Responsibilities
ELA Instruction:
Advanced reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and evidence-based writing aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards.
Social Studies Instruction:
U.S. History, geography, and civics.
Curriculum Management:
Maintain lesson plans, assessments, and data tracking for both subject areas.
Differentiated Learning:
Tailor instruction to meet diverse learner profiles, ensuring equitable growth in literacy and critical thinking.
Professional Collaboration:
Actively participate in grade-level PLCs and coordinate with Math/Science partners to ensure a cohesive student experience.
Communication:
Maintain professional, proactive partnerships with families regarding student progress and classroom goals. Qualifications
Licensure:
Valid Oklahoma Standard Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
Expertise:
Strong command of upper-elementary pedagogy and the ability to manage subject-matter transitions effectively.
Attributes:
Exceptional communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to the Clinton community.
