High School History Harding Fine Arts Oklahoma City, OK Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Engaging lesson design (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description Position Summary Harding Fine Arts Academy is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered High School History Teacher who is passionate about engaging students through rigorous instruction and arts integration. The ideal candidate will create meaningful learning experiences that connect history, civics, geography, economics, and culture with the visual and performing arts while preparing students for college, career, and life success. As an arts-integrated school and member of the Oklahoma A+ Schools Network, HFAA believes students learn best when creativity, collaboration, and real-world connections are embedded into daily instruction. The History Teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues to create engaging, interdisciplinary experiences that make learning relevant and meaningful. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach high school history courses that may include U.S. History, Oklahoma History, World History, Government, Economics, and other social studies courses as assigned. Develop engaging lessons aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards. Incorporate arts integration strategies to deepen student understanding of historical concepts and events. Utilize project-based learning, performance-based assessments, and creative instructional practices. Foster critical thinking, analysis, research, discussion, and civic engagement. Use student data to guide instruction and interventions. Maintain a positive classroom culture that supports student growth and achievement. Collaborate with fine arts and core academic teachers to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress. Participate in school activities, professional development, and collaborative planning. Arts Integration Expectations The successful candidate will: Connect historical content to visual arts, theater, music, dance, media arts, and creative expression. Design lessons that encourage students to demonstrate learning through artistic and creative processes. Collaborate with fine arts faculty to create authentic cross-curricular experiences. Support the mission and vision of Harding Fine Arts Academy as an arts-integrated learning community.
