Immediately Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
Deliver direct instruction to students in grades 9-12 within the assigned core subject area. Guide and support students as they navigate online coursework, including those completing previously assigned incomplete grades. Teachers will have access to both their own curriculum and that of other high school instructors to ensure alignment and continuity. The daily schedule will include a combination of small-group support, online study labs, and direct instruction.QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Strong knowledge of subject specific curriculum content. Proficient in Google Apps, including Google Docs. Experience with the Fuel Education platform preferred.Skilled in:
Skilled in lesson planning, implementing engaging learning activities, managing classroom behavior, conducting assessments, and differentiating instruction to meet individual student skill levels. Demonstrates strong organizational skills.Ability to:
Demonstrated ability in classroom organization and behavior management. Strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven capacity to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Ability to be a collaborative team member who fosters supportive connections with students and families. Bilingual communication skills (Spanish) preferred.Experience:
Experience in online curriculum development and assessment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.Education:
Completion of a higher education Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in education.Certification Required:
A valid secondary level teaching license issued by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission with proper endorsement.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations. Plan and deliver instruction aligned with district and state curriculum standards, tailored to students' interests, needs, and abilities. Create and maintain an engaging, respectful, and developmentally appropriate online learning environment. Prepare lessons and provide documentation of instructional planning upon request. Establish and maintain regular, open communication with students and their parents/guardians regarding academic progress, attendance, and behavior. Collaborate with colleagues, including participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Attend staff meetings and fulfill all required professional responsibilities in a timely and professional manner. Support and implement district and school policies and procedures. Regularly assess student learning, maintain accurate and timely records, and comply with all applicable district, state, and legal requirements. Ensure a safe and supportive online learning environment and proper use of instructional materials and technology. Perform other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Language Skills:
Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Ability to write memoranda, correspondence, lessons plans, reports, and student achievement summaries in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations.Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed, but basic, written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Skills and Abilities:

CALENDAR/SALARY/BENEFITS:
WORKDAYS/HOURS
7 hours per day, when school is in session. June 16, 2026 - June 30, 2026 8:00am - 4:00pm;NO SCHOOL
June 19, 2026. Paid by timesheet at the Per Diem Rate. Newberg School District pays 6% PERS contribution, provides a generous insurance cap and long-term disability insurance.
