- Genuine liking of teenager and an understanding of their development
- Present lessons in a comprehensive and engaging manner using a variety of tools and methods to enable learning
- Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
- Administer meaningful assessments that measure student comprehension
- Understand and support Grier's school policies and procedures
- Willingness to follow directions and to think outside of the box
- Ability to adapt to teaching styles and materials
- Enthusiasm for teaching as a profession and for the material and skills being taught
- Six weekend duties, in addition to Opening Weekend, Parent's Weekend, and Graduation

Job Requirements:
- Keep the channels of communication open between Learning Skills faculty, private tutor, and student support consultant Maintain a Canvas dashboard for each course taught and update it on a weekly basis. Update homework sheets on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
- Create, plan, and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events that promote learning
- Maintain an inviting learning environment that meets the guidelines of the school
- Check your Grier email on a daily basis
- Attend specified department and/or faculty meetings
- Attend activities and events in the evenings and on the weekends as assigned Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
- Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject
- Master's degree preferred
- Thorough knowledge of teaching practices and legal educational guidelines
- Well-organized, creative, and energetic
