Job Overview Welcome to Huron Academic Endeavors Education Center! We are the Blue Water Area's first and only hybrid homeschool education and enrichment center. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated part-time High School Lead Instructor to join our innovative hybrid microschool. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational experience of high school students by combining in-person classroom instruction and home-based learning. As a lead instructor, you will foster a vibrant learning environment, implement engaging Charlotte Mason-based curricula, and mentor students to achieve their academic and personal growth goals. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in their abilities. This position is ideal for passionate educators eager to make a meaningful impact while working flexible hours in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate engaging classroom activities that promote active learning and student participation Provide individualized support and tutoring to students needing extra assistance in areas like algebra, geometry, calculus, or standardized testing preparation Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment Mentor students on academic planning, college readiness, and personal development through regular advising sessions Collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum development strategies and share best practices for hybrid teaching models Monitor student progress through assessments, assignments, and formative evaluations; adjust instruction accordingly Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievements, challenges, and behavioral concerns Uphold high standards of proofreading, copy editing, and adherence to style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style for all written materials Requirements Proven classroom management skills with experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings Strong background in teaching high school subjects including math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus), literacy education, or related fields Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment design Excellent communication skills for public speaking, mentoring, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders Private school experience or background in childhood development is advantageous Skills in proofreading, copy editing, familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style or AP style guidelines are desirable Join us to be part of an energetic team committed to transforming high school education through innovative teaching practices.
