Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment.General Statement:
Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.Responsibilities:
- Teaches content and skills in school Social Studies/History.
- Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
- Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Organize students for effective instruction.
- Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of web-based alternative learning programs is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor degree required.
Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Walk, climb stairs, bend and lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
