American Sign Language Description:
Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of American Sign Language to teach courses in the undergraduate program. Applicants should be able to teach in-person. Part-time adjuncts are contracted term-by-term based on course/section need and availability. Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians, committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Responsibilities:
This is a part-time adjunct faculty position for two sections of Elementary American Sign Language I, one hour three times per week; and two lab sections of one hour per week. Primary duties include preparing for and conducting classes, grading, evaluating, and assessing students, maintaining accurate records and demonstrating excellent classroom management.
Qualifications Qualifications:
Applicants should have at least an MA degree in American Sign Language or an equivalent degree. ASLTA certification is required. Applicants should have a strong computer literacy skills and evidence of teaching excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching at a high school or higher education level. Previous experience with Blackboard or similar online platform is desirable. Share job details to
