Junior High and Senior High School History Teacher

Job Overview We are seeking a certified Jr. High and High School History Teacher who will inspire students to engage deeply with history, government, geography, and current events. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator who helps students develop critical thinking, research, and communication skills, while fostering an appreciation for diverse perspectives and the importance of civic responsibility. This teacher will contribute to a collaborative team of educators, uphold our values of kindness and inclusivity, and create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to think critically, discuss respectfully, and connect the past to the present. Duties Teach Jr. High and High School history and social studies courses (specific courses assigned based on expertise and program needs). Develop and deliver rigorous, engaging, and student-centered lessons aligned with Texas and national standards. Incorporate project-based learning, primary source analysis, and discussion-based instruction. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support growth. Foster a classroom culture that is safe, inclusive, and aligned with Lake Creek Academy's mission of respecting and valuing every learner. Collaborate with colleagues across subject areas to integrate interdisciplinary projects and experiential learning opportunities. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom initiatives. Participate in school-wide events, staff meetings, and professional development.

Qualifications Required:

Valid teaching certification in History/Social Studies (grades 7-12).

Preferred:

10+ years of teaching experience in secondary history/social studies. Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
