Job Description
Job Description Teacher Beta is a Title I Schoolwide campus. I understand that part or all of this job could be funded with federal funds. Mission The mission of the Beta Academy Teacher is to establish a world-class classroom through a culture of joyful rigor and develop scholars and leaders who can contribute on a community, national, and international level. Outcomes 1. Meet Academic Goals (K-5) 60% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests (K-5) 25% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests (6-8) 65% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests (6-8) 30% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests (9-12) 70% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests (9-12) 35% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests 70% of scholars meet or exceed expected growth Earn Distinct Designation in your content area on state tests Earn Master Level Teacher status on Beta Observation Rubric by third year of teaching. 2. Meet Attendance Goal 97% Average Daily Attendance 3. Meet School Culture Goals 3.0 score or higher on Parent Satisfaction Surveys 95% Scholar Persistence (K-5) Award each scholar a minimum of 1 Sunshine Note a month (3-5) Award Beta Bucks a minimum 12 times throughout the day Measured by Teacher Observation Rubric section 2.1 for joyful teaching (6-8) Award tribe points a minimum 12 times throughout the day (9-12) Mentor a minimum of 7 scholars a year in successfully receiving their Ba patch 4. Meet IT Goals 100% of computer and IT inventory is accounted for at all times, with comprehensive log identifying when a scholar uses a device and which device the scholar is using 100% of computer damage is reported within 24 hours through IT Trouble Tickets. 5. Meet Operations Goals 100% of classroom inventory is accounted for at all times. 100% of classroom damage is reported within 24 hours through the facility's trouble ticket system. Teach scholars the importance of hard work through joyful rigor- engaging, dynamic learning that is academically, intellectually and personally challenging. Implement the following BA non-negotiable instructional methods. Endorsed methods per grade span are listed as follows; however, these styles are cumulative and accessible for graduated spans: (K-5) Cooperative Learning, Whole Brain Teaching, Hands on Projects, and Leadership Development
- SFA Teams (6-8) Cooperative Learning, Soft Skills Coaching, Real World Project, Leadership Development
- Tribes (9-12) Socratic Method, Soft Skills Coaching, Leadership Development
- Ba Patch & Ambassador Understand that classroom observational feedback/scores will emphasize the successful implementation of the above teaching methods.
Management & Organization:
Encourage class attendance with recognition, rewards, parent communication, and maintain 97% ADA. Implement classroom rules/procedures (including both positive reinforcement and consequences) Follow school drills and sub protocol procedures in accordance with the Parent/Scholar Handbook and utilize the Handbook as a first point of reference. Maintain a neat, clean, orderly, and learning-centered environment that demonstrates BA standards of excellence. BA teachers take ownership of the campus and instill this in scholars daily. Perform a daily uniform check and understand scholars are expected to follow the BA appearance guidelines. Follow proper attendance-taking procedures and ensure timely reporting.Professionalism & Communication:
Demonstrate professionalism by being in regular attendance and arriving on time to work, staff meetings, tutorials, cafeteria duty, parent nights (one per month) and other assigned duties. Complete required training on time. Work cooperatively to create an atmosphere of unity among the school community and refrain from gossip, negativity and unsupportive comments. Demonstrate professionalism at ALL times. Exercise wisdom by remaining calm, respectful and non-defensive during parent meetings, disagreements, and personal attacks. Utilize professional communication with strong grammar, syntax, usage and/or spelling skills during phone conversations, personal conversations, emails, and social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. refrain from attacking others, fighting, on social media. Professional communication is used on and off campus. Exhibit professionalism in appearance and follow the BA standard of dress located in the Magic Makers Handbook under the Dress Code section. Apply this standard of dress to social media posts in regards to modesty in dress and action (ex: swimsuit, cleavage, & shirtless pictures, in addition to posts with alcohol, cigarettes and bars etc.). Regularly communicate to parents about scholar achievement levels, class behavior, assigned homework, academic needs, and any concerns. Share information regarding school calendar, planned school activities, field trips, money collection, and other events within the classroom and school that are imperative and time sensitive to the parents of the classroom. Check staff email a minimum of three times daily during normal working hours and check teacher in-box daily and commit to read updates, notes, and employee notices in a timely manner. Other duties/ responsibilities Participate willingly in all dance/stomp productions throughout the academic school year. Additional duties may be assigned by the Principal.
