Job Description

To teach Government courses as assigned. Instructor is required to be actively engaged in the course multiple days a week per policy. Instructor will need content knowledge, technological proficiency and develop online teaching strategies. Must live within area; or be willing to travel to location at own expense. Compensation is based on type of course and number of students, paid by Part time employment agreement. Master's Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with 18 graduate hours in Government is required. Program should be from a research based university. In addition, graduate coursework must align with Government courses listed in the CTC college catalog. Prefer college level teaching experience in history. Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills. Demonstrated written and oral communications skills. Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations. Knowledge of LMS such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, or D2

efficient with uploading materials, grading, running discussions Advanced computer skills, must be comfortable in using various software platforms including PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Prezi (with voiceovers or video) Ability to manage email and respond to emails in a timely manner. Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations. Ability to manage forums and discussion boards, manage assignments and be timely in grading. Demonstrate effective class management, providing maximum opportunity for student progress. Demonstrate organization and development of materials for course presentation, utilizing syllabi and textbooks approved by department. Ensure the course objectives, as defined in the syllabus, are accomplished. Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on assignments and exam results. Maintain accurate and complete records on each student and submit required certification roles by the required deadline. Monitor progress of students and counsel on a timely basis, when required. Ensure proper management and utilization of all instructional equipment, resources, and materials. Encourage critical thinking about global interdependence, environmental justice, and spatial inequality. Adhere to college policies and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and improvement. .
