We are currently looking for a Secondary History Teacher (Jr High & High School) for the 2026 - 2027 school year. We take pride in our small classes and family like atmosphere. As a Secondary History Teacher, you have the opportunity to set the tone for learning for the rest of a student's life. When students have a good, educational, motivative and collaborative experience during their school years, they are more prepared to take on the challenges of high school and college. Job Summary The teacher will prayerfully help the secondary students at AFBCS learn skills, attitudes, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to serve within our community and beyond. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday. Commitment to serving Jesus Christ. Character of Christ exhibited in daily life. Prepare detailed weekly lesson plans. Uses a variety of teaching methodologies to create an engaging classroom environment, in which all students are held to high expectations. Keeps accurate attendance. Ability to incorporate best practices in education, including effective use of technology. Has excellent classroom and discipline management skills to ensure a consistent and effective learning environment. Able to maintain a neat, tidy, and attractive classroom that promotes a positive learning and working environment. Keeps emergency lesson plans and is able to follow the AFBCS subfolder requirements in case of unexpected emergencies/absences. Able to follow the AFBCS policies on grading and lesson plans, as well as keep up with the assigned deadlines. Able to communicate with faculty, staff, students, and parents as necessary. Check email, text, and messages on the learning management system daily. Returns phone calls, emails, messages, etc., within 24 hours of receipt. Ability to log all communication, documentation, discipline, and the like in the learning management system as required. Attends required monthly faculty meetings. Coordinates field trips and classroom events. Offers weekly one-day-a-week tutoring. Other duties that may be assigned throughout the year by Administration.
