Self, Culture, and Society (HUM-120) Posted 1 week ago Apply Share Link copied HUM-120 course uses a critical lens to examine the interrelationship among self, culture, and society by integrating academic knowledge with personal experiences. Students engage in inclusive dialogue, create knowledge using diverse forms of media, personalize and map future goals, and explore career pathways. This course is designed to cultivate community among classmates and provide opportunities for mentorship by faculty, peers, and advisors. Students reflect on their role in creating a more just society that advances equity and values community cultural wealth. Each course section examines self, culture, and society through a specific academic theme. Students choose a section based on their interests. This course meets the General Education requirement for General Education Elective.Requirements:
Master's degree or a terminal degree in a related field. Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population Ability to teach courses on campus in an in-person setting at BHCC's Charlestown, Chelsea campuses, and Satellite locations.Preferred Requirements:
College teaching experience, especially at the Community College level. Minimum of one year of working at Bunker Hill Community College. Attended at least one Learning Community-related professional development event, such as a Learning Community Institute, Ethnography of Work training, or similar in the past two years.Additional Information:
Salary:
$1,397 per credit hour Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.
