Theatre Description:
Dean College's School of the Arts is looking for dynamic, experienced, student-centered adjunct educators to teach several courses during the Fall 2026 semester. The College seeks Adjunct Faculty who focus on experiential learning and active engagement in their classrooms. Adjuncts chosen to teach at Dean College create apelling and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds. We are seeking adjunct instructors for courses which may include stage management, theatre pedagogy, vocal technique, and acting technique. Courses will meet 3 hours per week. The adjunct pay rate is $3,300.00/section. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach. The School of the Arts provides a course charter with course objectives and learning oues and sample syllabi. All faculty are expected to make active use of the learning management system Canvas at least at a minimum level established by the College.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field required. Related experience in the relevant field (Theatre, Performing Arts, or Visual Arts) and/or prominent professional credits, including excellence in teaching at the college level or in a conservatory setting, preferred Ability and willingness to be responsive and supportive to students through college online resources and digital tools is preferred. Experience with or willingness to learn Canvas, our learning management system, and classroom media is required. Expertise in learner-centered teaching is required. Experience using technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy is required. Experience and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body with a variety of learning styles is required.
