Job Description

Associate Professor•History Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Associate Professor•History at its Detroit campus location. Essential functions (job duties): Wayne State University has an available position of Associate Professor in Detroit, MI.
Job duties include:
Teach university courses in history including
HIST 3400
•The Car in American Life and Labor;
HIST 3650
•History of Detroit;
HIST 5290/7290
•Workers in American History;
HIST 5300/7300
•American Capitalism Since 1945;
HIST 5996
•Capstone; & HIST 8030•Modern American History. Advise students. Conduct research in 20th century labor history in the United States. Collaborate with colleagues/faculty in Department of Public Health to develop courses in addiction issues in the workplace. Publish results of research in peer-reviewed journals & present at professional conferences.
Qualifications:
Position requires a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in History & 36 months experience as a university teacher.
Position also requires:
1) Ph.D. dissertation in 20th century labor history; & 2) One monograph in 20th century labor history published by an academic press. Qualified candidates should apply through the WSU Online Hiring System at https://jobs.wayne.edu.
