The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law invites applications from entry-level and lateral candidates for a visiting lawyering skills position limited to the 2025-26 academic year. We seek applications from exceptional candidates who have a demonstrated interest in skills teaching, and who are excited about being part of a collegial, student-oriented, committed faculty. The successful candidate will teach three (3) classes in McGeorge's Global Lawyering Skills program, which covers legal research, writing, and oral advocacy. One (1) course, GLS I, is in the students' fall semester of the first year of law school. GLS II builds on GLS I and takes place in the spring of the first year. The third course, GLS III, takes place in the fall semester of the students' second year. Pacific McGeorge anticipates a possible full-time hire starting in 2026-2027. The successful visitor candidate would have an opportunity to apply for the full-time position Minimum Qualifications Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree. Technological competence. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work. This is an in-person role, and the successful candidate must be willing to relocate within California, preferably within 25 miles of the Sacramento Pacific campus. Frequent sitting and computer use. Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is primarily performed in a standard higher education environment with the use of computer and phones. Schedule is dependent on the course and department needs.
