Job Description:

Beacon Hill was founded to set a new standard in search, career placement and flexible staffing. Our client, a public sector organization is seeking a Research & Acquisition Librarian to join their team on a long term temporary basis in Washington, D.C.

About The Job:

Evaluate the research needs of economists and financial analysts to connect them with licensed economic and business data resources Conduct market research to identify and source data and subscription services that meet user needs Coordinate the acquisitions process across business negotiation, legal, procurement, billing, and data onboarding Serve as a point of contact for questions regarding licensed data and subscriptions Collaborate with vendors, data managers, and internal stakeholders to resolve data and technical issues Support management of data and subscription contracts, including tracking usage and providing updates Contribute to library initiatives related to data governance, information management, and process improvements

About You:

Master's degree in library science, information Science, or related field required 2+ years of experience as an acquisitions, serials, e-resources, or reference librarian Experience acquiring library electronic resources such as data services, online news, e-journal aggregators, or e-books Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret license terms and communicate requirements clearly Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
