Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Librarian to join our vibrant educational community. As a Librarian, you will serve as the cornerstone of our library services, fostering a love for reading, research, and lifelong learning among children, adults, and staff. Your role will involve organizing and maintaining library collections, delivering engaging literacy education, and integrating innovative learning technology to create an inspiring environment for discovery. Responsibilities Manage and organize the library's collection through cataloging using an integrated library system to ensure easy access and efficient retrieval of resources Develop and deliver engaging literacy education programs that promote reading, research skills, and information literacy among students Assist students and staff in locating resources, conducting research, and utilizing learning technology effectively Implement management strategies within the library to foster a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning Collaborate with the community to integrate library resources into activities and support curriculum goals Promote library services through outreach initiatives, including storytelling sessions, book clubs, and special events Maintain accurate records of library usage, inventory, and circulation activities to support organizational efficiency Maintain the library's cleanliness and appearance to provide an exceptional experience for visitors. Requirements Proven experience in library services, including cataloging, research assistance, and resource management Strong working knowledge of learning technology tools and integrated library systems Excellent writing skills for creating instructional materials, reports, and promotional content Effective communication skills to engage with patrons The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Ability to work with adults and children across different age groups while fostering a safe and inclusive environment Knowledge of literacy education principles and strategies for promoting reading engagement Experience in supporting activities related to research or information literacy is a plus Behavior management skills to maintain a respectful environment within the library setting.
