  • Develop and maintain a dynamic school library program aligned with district curriculum, instructional goals, and the district strategic plan.
  • Empower students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skilled researchers, and ethical users of information.
  • Ensure equitable access to library resources, technology, and information for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration to support curriculum, research, literacy, and instructional technology initiatives.
  • Foster a flexible, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and independent learning.
  • Research, develop, organize, and maintain the library collection, digital resources, and curriculum materials.
  • Promote and support the effective use of instructional technology and digital literacy skills.
  • Stay current with professional practices, educational technology, and library/media trends.
  • Serve on school and district committees and participate in school-wide initiatives and duties.
  • Administer and manage the school library budget, inventory, and inter-library loan system.
  • Supervise parent volunteers and coordinate the annual school book fair.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the Wilmington Public Library and other community resources.
  • Complete report cards/grades three times per year.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
