Job Description
Rumford Public Library Now Hiring:
Adult Services Librarian ___________________________________________________________________________________ Do you believe libraries are more than just buildings with books—they're vibrant community hubs where ideas, learning, and connections thrive? Rumford Public Library is seeking an Adult Services Librarian who shares that vision and is ready to make a meaningful impact. In your role as Adult Services Librarian, you will:- Design and deliver engaging programs and events tailored to adult learners and readers.
- Provide expert reader's advisory and research assistance.
- Assist the Library Director in curating and developing the library collection.
- You'll work closely with the Children's Librarian to connect programs between age levels.
- Support Circulation and Technology staff to provide friendly and high quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, promote, and lead innovative adult programs and events.
- Offer personalized research help.
- Work closely with library staff to curate collections that reflect community needs and interests.
- Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable resource for all adult patrons.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Creativity, adaptability, and a passion for public service.
- Bachelor's Degree in Library/Information Science is preferred.
- Significant experience in and a working knowledge of Library services are required.
- Experience with Sierra and Minerva is a plus.
- Proficiency using computers, computer software and the internet is required.
- Demonstrated excellent public relations ability with all ages is required.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position paying $23.00 per hour plus benefits. The Town of Rumford offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and vision coverage, paid holidays, sick and vacation leave.
