08/24/2026 Iber Holmes Gove Middle School is Raymond's grade 4 - 8 school with a student population of 420+/-. We are a team based school with five grade level teams and a unified arts team. Each grade level team is made up of four to five classroom teachers and a special education case manager. The unified arts team is made up of the art, STEM, family & consumer science, health, librarian, music, an physical education teachers. Iber Holmes Gove Middle School is a community of learners and positive role models working and growing together to encourage all students to reach their highest academic potential. GENERAL SUMMARY
To manage the selection, acquisition, circulation, and maintenance of materials and equipment according to district procedures while supervising volunteers and students as well as providing an atmosphere that attracts students and teachers to the library
QUALIFICATIONS
(SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
REQUIRED
): The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. A valid New Hampshire Teacher's Certificate Library Media Specialist A completed credential file that meets Raymond Public School standards. Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience. Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education. Interview/file data will include evidence of sensitivity and respect for others and verification of the demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for youth. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Plan library budget Selection and acquisition of materials Evaluate existing collection to determine needs Enlist faculty recommendations in evaluation and selecting Read reviews and consult with other librarians Evaluate and select print and nonprint materials Prepare orders for materials/selections Process incoming orders Supervise preparation for shelves Select and order of library supplies Manage digital databases and professional resources for staff Supervise, train and delegate duties to volunteers Supervise information services management system Assist all staff and volunteers to work on the automated catalog and circulation programs Assist with implementation of extended Learning Opportunities Assist teachers in locating materials for their curriculum Compile special bibliographies for individual and class use Coordinate class library periods in conjunction with curriculum units and class assignments Provide scheduled time for classes to select books Provide a daily time for any student to select books Assist students in book selection Provide individual and class instruction in use of reference tools, automated catalog, Dewey Decimal System and other library skills Introduce classes to a range of library materials.
